We Listen To Your Needs To Build Your Dream

pimgpsh_fullsize_distr Current Construction applies a process-based approach of sharing expert construction knowledge and advice with our clients before coming together to build their project. Every build – big or small – starts with a conversation about what you want to achieve at your project’s completion. We follow an 8-point methodical process to ensure we get things right first time, every time.

8 Steps From Dream to Reality Project Management

1. Getting to Know Each Other

David and/or Colm will listen carefully to your vision for the look and function of your project – including prioritizing your ‘must haves’ and would like to haves’. In this meeting, we will discuss:

  • Short and long term goals
  • The plan you have in hand or the dream you want us to design
  • Your design tastes and preferences
  • Confirm your timeline and budget parameters
  • Review our design and construction procedures
  • Answer any questions you may have

The primary result of this meeting is to establish a clear set of expectations for your project and the budget required to realize them.

2. Property Assessment, Present Our Quote and Review The Scope Of Work

The Current Construction team will take property measurements and review property conditions. If you have a plan in hand we’ll review it with you and identify potential challenges and explore design suggestions with alternative options. On the other hand, if Current Construction is asked to design your project we’ll gather all the info we need at this point so we can prepare our proposal and quote.

The next step is a meeting where Current Constructions will present a detailed proposal and quote using your current project vision as a baseline – with appropriate adjustments that may have been identified during the project assessment. We will review our proposal together, answer any questions and discuss the details of our next steps. Our main desire here is for you to feel comfortable in your understanding of our proposal and how our process works.

Current Constructions will also prepare and review a detailed Scope of Work with you. At this point you will have enough information about your project to determine if Current Construction is the company for you.

3. Design Generation

If called upon to design your project, Current Construction will generate computer drafted plan that will include details that clearly define the specifications of your project. This plan will include all material selections for every element of your plan. The design process begins immediately after we have a signed retainer agreement and deposit.

We work side-by-side with you as we explore all the details and options for your project. We will focus the design around your desires while being sensitive to your budget. This is a reiterative process that will eventually include all of your cabinetry, materials, appliances, fixtures and other aesthetic and functionality needs.

At the end of this stage the design is complete. Current Construction will provide you with a detailed revised proposal based your final design and material choices. Our team will review the changes and selections made during the design process plus their impact on the revised proposal/budget and project time line.

4. Plans And Permits

Current Construction will submit your project to the city for approval once you sign off on the completed plans we prepare for your project, or the Scope of Work for the plans you have brought to us is mutually agreed upon.

Depending on the size and scope of your project, this process can take as little as a few days to several months. We handle all the details and interface with the city and associated agencies to get the permit(s) issued.

5. Custom Home / Commercial Space Building Construction Project Management

Current Construction will assign an experienced Project Manager to your project. Your Project Manager will oversee the Construction Manager, Foreman, and Construction Crew to guarantee that every detail of your project plan is properly implemented. During project construction you will work closely with your Project Manager who will provide you with timely updates and discuss your project with you every step of the way.

6. Pre-Construction Meeting

Current Construction will schedule an onsite pre-construction meeting with you prior to the start of construction on your project. Your Project Manager will do a final review of the final Scope of Work to ensure that the project is as you want it and any unanswered questions are addressed.

7. Construction Begins

You will find that communication will increase and more details will be discussed the closer we get to your start date.

You can rest assured that when your project ‘breaks ground’ and Current Construction goes to work your chosen materials will have been selected and all plans and permits are finalized and approved! On your agreed start date we will meet on-site to introduce you to your construction team, discuss construction and dust control, review the construction plan and start construction.

Your Construction Manager will be on-site several times a week and will be communicating daily with your Project Manager and Foreman. Current Construction will update the schedule weekly or biweekly and discuss changes from the baseline with you as needed. We will also coordinate all the inspections from the city, including final inspection.

Current Construction will perform a review and sign off on its internal checklist at the end of its work before we meet with you to discuss the final product.

8. Project Completion

Upon completion, your Current Construction Project Manager will walk through your property with you to identify any elements that require modification, including any last minute changes or upgrades. Your project will not be deemed complete until you are 100% satisfied. You will receive a detailed packet of information about warranted products and services when your project is completed. For thirty days, Current Construction will perform weekly property assessments to make sure that all elements of your project are functioning properly.
