Project Info:

Our latest project on the Dolores Park Home showcases our expertise in blending modern amenities with historical preservation. We undertook a comprehensive renovation, starting with a complete foundation replacement and structural upgrade that not only enhanced seismic safety but also expanded the living space by several hundred square feet. The lower level was reconfigured to include a new kitchenette, guest suite, and entertainment area, creating a more versatile living space. We installed all new utility lines and services, including underfloor heating for comfort. The project featured challenging finishing details, such as an oversized maple veneer slider hallway door that ingeniously doubles as a shower screen, complemented by a 1/2" tempered glass shower wall. We custom-fabricated a new stairway and replaced all doors and windows. The exterior received equal attention with front and rear hardscape and landscape improvements. Throughout the renovation, we carefully restored the period facade, maintaining the home's historical character while significantly upgrading its functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Sequoia Vista

Project Info:

The exterior of Sequoia Vista is a testament to the remarkable creativity and ingenuity of its original developer, a local boat builder. Constructed in the early 1970s, this architectural gem began as a humble dome kitchen with a living quarters attached. Through a series of thoughtful extensions and meticulous restorations, it has transformed into the breathtakingly unique and tranquil retreat that it is today.

The house seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, as if it were always meant to be a part of the landscape. The use of natural materials, such as locally sourced timber and stone, further enhances its organic appeal. The weathered textures and earthy tones of the exterior create a sense of timelessness, as if the house has gracefully aged alongside the ancient trees that surround it.

The extensions and restorations that have taken place over the years have only added to the charm and allure of Sequoia Vista. Each addition has been thoughtfully designed to complement the original structure while providing modern comforts and conveniences. The result is a harmonious blend of old and new, where history and innovation coexist in perfect balance.
